How Is A Watchfinder Watch Prepared?
Authenticated
The watchmakers in our manufacturer-certified service centre are equipped with the knowledge and experience to ensure that every single watch is genuine. Nothing is left to chance, with watches being inspected at high magnification both outside and in.
Inspected
Each watch is assigned to one of our team of manufacturer accredited watchmakers, who will give it a full health check. The watch will be fully deconstructed according to brand procedure so that each part can be cleaned and replaced if necessary.
Restored
In the polishing room, 15 skilled technicians remove marks on the case and bracelet of the watch, brought about by daily wear and tear. A factory finish will be applied to the watch, using the same tools and techniques used by premium watch brands.
Serviced
Our watchmakers are manufacturer trained to service your watch by some of the greatest watchmakers in the world. Original parts and tools are used exactly to brand standards. Every watch is then given at least a two-year Watchfinder warranty for peace-of-mind.
Our People
Watchmakers
Our service centre brings together the skills of qualified experts, while embracing the enthusiasm of a new generation of watchmakers. With over 150 years’ experience between them, our experts are dedicated to preserving Swiss tradition.
Polishers
Applying a finish to a premium watch can be a tricky process, with every brand and piece having its own specific technique. Our technicians are manufacturer-trained in each individual finish, whether it’s brushed, polished or sandblasted.
Quality Control
Nothing escapes the painstaking attention to detail of our quality control technicians. Using a timing machine and pressure test, they ensure that every watch sold by Watchfinder meets the industry’s ideals for accuracy and condition.
Administration
Our administration team keeps the service centre ticking over. They oversee the watch’s journey through its service, using barcode and scanner technology to log where the watch is at all times and documenting what work is done to it.
Our Equipment
In most cases you can refer to your watch’s original documents where you will be able to find both the name and model number of your watch.
If you don’t have the original documents, use the dropdown box below to learn where to find the model number on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Watchfinder has the largest independent multi-brand service centre in the UK. Every watch repair or service is undertaken by one of our highly skilled, brand-accredited watchmakers using manufacturer-approved tools. We’re dedicated to providing a first class service, so we offer a quick turnaround time for the work we complete, as well as a comprehensive warranty.
If the work is completed internally, a watch service typically takes between 6–8 weeks—dependent on the availability of parts—from the date you give us the go-ahead to service.
For every overhaul service that we undertake, we provide a 24-month Watchfinder warranty on the work we have done, giving you that extra bit of peace of mind.
You will need to make payment once the repair work or service has been completed.
Once you have made an enquiry, we will send you an estimated quote for the work. You will then need to send the watch to our service centre, or drop it off at one of our nationwide boutiques. We will send you a final quote after inspection, so that you can give us authorisation to begin your watch repair or service. The work will be completed by our manufacturer-accredited watchmakers using brand-approved tools and machinery. Once complete, your watch will be passed to quality control for a rigorous inspection. Then, once you have made payment, your watch will be returned to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery, or made available for collection at one of our locations.
